Location: Santa Monica, CA 90405
Scope of Position: EdgeCast is looking for a Business Development Representative to drive sales, revenue and aggressively grow the business. The Business Development Representative's primary responsibilities are to generate leads via outbound prospecting, as well as handle and address inbound leads from a global territory. This person will prospect leads via phone/email from industry lists and specific targeted vertical markets as defined by the sales and marketing strategies. This is a hybrid inside/outside sales position with a very competitive salary and uncapped commissions.
Role and Responsibilities

- Prospect, qualify and close potential clients generated through outbound calling, email initiatives and incoming inquiries generated through web advertising and marketing campaigns
- Have a complete technical understanding of and ability to articulate and demonstrate the EdgeCast product line and value proposition
- Maintain account pipeline with weekly reports to sales management
- Provide high touch account management with current client base
- Determine potential up sell and other revenue opportunities within an account
- Requirements/Qualifications:

- BA/BS preferred
- Minimum 3 years of sales experience; B2B technology sales or CDN sales experience a plus
- Background in technology (infrastructure, web hosting, CDN preferred)
- High-energy individual with excellent communication skills
- Experience in a quota carrying sales role preferred
- Able to effectively prospect, qualify, and solution sell to the right decision makers
- Excellent presentation skills with the ability to succinctly present EdgeCast's services via phone/web conference, trade shows, etc.
- Solid computer skills, proficient with standard software products, Internet, and web applications
- SalesForce.com experience is a plus!
