Scope of Position: EdgeCast is looking for a high achieving Information Security Engineer to lead the implementation of enterprise security solutions in both Microsoft and Linux environments for the entire company. This role will be working closely with our VP of Engineering and responsible for implementing and monitoring systems and processes that are required to maintain network security.

Role and Responsibilities

• Implement enterprise security solutions in Microsoft and Linux environments for EdgeCast's network
• Responsible for all aspects of information security across the enterprise and production environments
• Engineer application, system and network security solutions to meet security requirements for varied operating environments
• Deploy, maintain and troubleshoot firewalls, intrusion detection systems, VPN appliances, vulnerability assessment tools and other network security systems
• Perform internal and external network penetration tests and triage on reported incidents
• Responsible for creating information security policies and defining processes following ITIL and industry best practices
• Help form the company's processes for responding to incidents, security advisories and other operational issues
• Manage process to identify and remediate issues proactively through regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, log parsing and other industry practices
• Conduct forensic investigations through collection and analysis of digital evidence, logs and associated information to determine a cause of behavior

Requirements/Qualifications:

• 4-year degree in a technical discipline (or equivalent experience) required
• 5+ years combined experience in information security, production operations, an ISP, large scale web application or similar environment in an engineering capacity
• MUST have proven experience implementing enterprise security solutions in Microsoft and Linux environments
• Strong and effective troubleshooting skills and methods in identifying application issues and network troubles
• Proven experience with auditing, risk and threat analysis, contingency planning, implementing security standards and methods utilizing various security tools
• Complete understanding of TCP/IP, Linux, network/system intrusion techniques, firewalls, load balancers, packet sniffers, remote access methodologies and VPNs
• Perl, PHP and/or shell scripting experience
• Security certifications such as CISA, CISSP, GPEN preferred
