Brian is an intellectual property, corporate and new media attorney with an entrepreneurial bent.

Before joining EdgeCast as VP and general counsel, Brian served as general counsel for Social Project, provider of the TagWorld and Flux social media platforms. When Social Project was acquired by Viacom in 2008, Brian joined MTV Networks. At MTV/Viacom, Brian had primary responsibility for the business and legal affairs of new Viacom subsidiaries Social Project (Flux) and Xfire (an online gaming platform), and other MTV digital media properties.

Prior to Social Project, Brian was general counsel for Allied Sun Technologies, a renewable energy company focused on large-scale photovoltaic installations. Prior to that, he was an attorney at Mitchell Silberberg & Knupp LLP and Baker & Hostetler LLP, where he represented media, high-tech, apparel, and other clients in IP and commercial disputes, negotiated and prepared a wide variety of agreements, and advised on anti-piracy strategies, statutory compliance, and other matters.

Brian earned his J.D. degree from the UCLA School of Law and his B.A. in political science from UCLA.  A busy family man, Brian lives in the San Fernando Valley, just north of Los Angeles.
