LOS ANGELES, CA – August 18, 2009 — A year after ranking in the top five CDN industry players, EdgeCast Networks, the superior, cost-effective rich media content delivery network (CDN), today announced that Yankee Group, a Boston-based independent research firm, placed EdgeCast in the #3 position in its "Anywhere Scorecard: Content Delivery Networks, 2009" report. This position is significant as it places EdgeCast just below the two incumbents and above seven other vendors, including carriers.

Below the "Front-runners" - incumbents Akamai and Limelight - EdgeCast was ranked as the top "Contender."
