Fastest-Growing CDN Signs Parallels, Twistage, PureVideo, dozens more; Meets Demand
for Events Farm Aid, Miss USA, and Michael Moore's "Slacker Uprising"

LOS ANGELES, CA – December 30, 2008 — Demonstrating substantial marketplace momentum during its first full year of operation, EdgeCast Networks, the superior, cost-effective rich media content delivery network (CDN), today announced that it crossed the 300 customer mark during the fourth quarter, having signed dozens of new customers across a wide variety of industries. Additionally, the company announced that in conjunction with Blip.tv, Incited Media, and RIS Technologies, its network had powered major online events such as Farm Aid, Miss USA, and the massive debut of the online-only Michael Moore film, "Slacker Uprising."

"Our technical team has had their heads down, maintaining 100% availability, deploying hundreds of servers globally, and adding features to our software. Alongside them, our sales and marketing team brought on significant new customers," said James Segil, president of EdgeCast Networks. "We're obviously pleased that our business continues to grow rapidly, especially in such a challenging market environment. As more customers see the need for a full-service global CDN, we're confident that we will sustain this growth during 2009."

New customer wins for EdgeCast include:

Twistage

Twistage, an extensible video platform that enables publishers to quickly, easily, and cost-effectively deliver video online, sought scalable global delivery of their customers' content. They required high network speeds, robust authentication and security features, and flexible, detailed analytics.

"For our customers, content delivery is tightly coupled with the Twistage service, and many customers have very specific security requirements," said David Wadler, founder and CEO of Twistage. "EdgeCast's security features have palpably improved the experience that we can offer. EdgeCast met our performance and infrastructure needs impressively, and they have provided an exceptional level of support as well."

Parallels

Parallels, a worldwide leader in virtualization and automation software, needed high availability HTTP download capacity for high speed delivery of their products around the world. The company sought to offload traffic from their own servers and control load spikes during traffic peaks. They also needed rich reporting that told them who was downloading from where - and also insight into which downloads had successfully completed.

PureVideo

PureVideo is a leading special interest publishing company that operates several online video properties, including GrindTV.com, the action sports channel of Yahoo! Sports. PureVideo wanted to speed up delivery of video and ensure that spikes in demand for virally popular videos didn't take the site offline. The company also required a depth of reporting not available with most of EdgeCast's competitors.

"We've been very happy with the performance we've seen from EdgeCast," said Greg Morrow, president and co-founder of PureVideo. "Beyond the rich reporting and superb speeds, we've also found their customer service to be second to none."

Other new customers include those providing business services, online educational services, and companies delivering media, entertainment, and sports content around the world.
