EDGECAST NETWORKS NAMED 2009 "TOP ONLINE VIDEO COMPANY" BY FIERCE ONLINE

Content delivery network caps banner year of growth, accolades, and profitability.

LOS ANGELES, CA – December 17, 2009 — EdgeCast Networks, the superior, cost–effective rich media content delivery network (CDN), today announced it it was selected by Fierce Online Video as one of fifteen companies that are shaping the online video space. Fierce editors evaluated dozens of companies and chose just fifteen who "provide the skeleton, muscle and flesh of the online video industry." Editor Jim O'Neill described EdgeCast as a "CDN on a roll" and cited the company's profitability as "no small task in the cutthroat world of the content delivery market."

This is the fourth independent industry accolade bestowed upon EdgeCast during 2009. This summer, Yankee Group named EdgeCast as the #3 content delivery network in the space, just behind the two big incumbents. Capacity Magazine later named EdgeCast the winner of its "Best Market Innovation" award. And most recently, EdgeCast was named a finalist in Red Herring's "Global 100".
